Since then, Elysium has continued to produce market leading solutions, which they have combined with effective hosting and support offerings. Clients include the British Standards Institution, BT, the BBC, Kent County Council, Sussex Careers, TH March, and many smaller companies in Sussex and Kent. Internationally, they continue to run the JPEG web site, and that of the International Color Consortium.
Research and development are key to Elysium's business - they have been involved in European Community initiatives through the ACTS, ESPRIT, 5th Framework and Intereg support programmes, and helped and assisted standardisation initiatives since their formation. As well as chairing the UK group responsible for work on MPEG and JPEG for over ten years during a period of intense activity, they have recently been charged within JPEG with leading the task of creating a new set of standards for the digital camera industry, working closely with Microsoft's key personnel to adapt their proprietary technology to match JPEG's capabilities to deliver standards.
Elysium Ltd is privately owned, and based in Crowborough, in rural East Sussex, home to Winnie the Pooh and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
